Central Depositories Bill
The proposed Bill is intended to provide a legal framework for the establishment, operation and regulation of Central Depositories in Tanzania. The Bill also contemplates a situation where securities will eventually be dematerialized i.e. no certificate will be needed as evidence of title to securities, instead electronic entries in the security depository will be adequate evidence of ownership.

The new Capital Markets and Commodities Exchanges Act.
This legislation is intended to address all the legal and institutional issues that were identified as shortcomings in the process of the Assessment against IOSCO principles and other gaps including issues arising from the regional integration initiatives such as EAC and SADC.The drafting of the new capital markets and commodity exchanges legislation was initiated in the financial year 2013/2014 in order to improve the regulation and supervision powers of the Authority, to bring it in line with developments taking place internationally and to include provisions for effective regulation and supervisory aspects of commodity exchanges.
